Roger A. Ramia | Advisor

Mr. Ramia is an information technology leader with 25 years of progressive experience ranging from hands-on software development, design and architecture to executive IT management and advisory services. He possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from George Mason University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Upon graduating from GMU in 1999, Mr. Ramia started developing military software applications with Booz Allen Hamilton, while pursuing an MBA of Finance.

In 2008 he left Booz Allen, moved to Chicago and joined Citadel Investment Group to focus on the FinTech space. At Citadel Mr. Ramia worked on various platforms including automated alpha capture and investment analysis systems. Ramia's work was instrumental in helping navigate the volatility of the financial crisis of 2008. By 2010 Mr. Ramia was recruited to lead a legal industry start-up named Driven, Inc. in the development and launch of a commercial eDiscovery platform called Driven OneTM. In 2015, Driven was granted a Patent for its ML based distributed data processing system co-authored by Mr. Ramia. After the launch of the Driven OneTM platform, and re-capitalization of the company, Mr. Ramia left to become an independent consultant, focusing primarily on the emerging blockchain industry.

Starting as a small-time Bitcoin miner in 2013, Mr. Ramia began working with blockchain technologies during their infancy. He was an early proponent of web3 and smart contracts and pre-launch participant in the Ethereum project. By 2017 Mr. Ramia launched Nostro IO, a private incubator fund, which leverages on-chain analytics to manage digital assets. In 2019 he co-founded a start-up called Alphagora which obtained the first SEC recognized crypto exclusive Robo-Advisor designation. Mr. Ramia continues to advise numerous start-ups and crypto funds and remains heavily involved in cryptocurrencies, web3 and the blockchain space.
